The "Make It Rain" AR activation for Ibotta, created with ROSE Digital, serves as a captivating interactive marketing campaign designed to attract new users and reward existing ones through a unique augmented reality experience. The WebAR game allows users to simulate catching falling cash in a virtual storm, as part of a larger campaign, Make It Rain encouraged new users to sign up and existing users to continue to Make It Rain cash back. This game not only promotes the app’s ability to easily earn users cash back, but also provides users with a fun and memorable way to interact with Ibotta's mission and earn a new user bonus.

The design and deployment of the game were centered around user-friendly mechanics and an inviting visual style that could be repurposed across Ibotta’s broader marketing campaign. Players interact with the game via a simple web interface where they place an Ibotta icon anchor in their environment. When placed, it triggers 3D branded clouds to appear and money to start raining down. The objective of the AR gaming experience is to collect as much cash rewards as possible before time runs out, integrating seamlessly with the promotional strategy of the Ibotta app.

This AR activation was also paired with a broader multimedia campaign, including a TikTok filter that used the same WebAR assets to drive traffic and increase brand awareness. Additionally, a traveling interactive installation enhanced the visibility of the campaign, featuring themed Instagrammable walls and an opportunity for physical engagement. The combination of digital innovation and tangible experiences provided a comprehensive strategy that significantly boosted Ibotta’s user engagement and conversion rates.
